Household sizing

Multi-connection IPTV plans: sizing for a real household

A connection is one stream playing at one moment. Two people watching the same TV use one connection; the same person watching a TV while a tablet plays in another room uses two. Count the maximum number of screens your household runs at the same time on a busy evening, not the number of devices you own.

Counting connections without guessing

The honest test: picture 8pm on a Sunday in your own home. How many different screens are showing different things? That number is your plan.

Each tier has a dedicated page with its own term breakdown and checkout, so you can compare terms within a tier without re-reading the whole matrix.

What running out of connections looks like

A stream that was closed by force-quitting an app can hold its slot briefly. Exit the player properly rather than pulling the plug on the device, and give it a minute before concluding the plan is too small.

  • A second device shows an authorisation or "maximum connections" error while the first plays normally.
  • One device drops to a black screen the moment another starts a channel.
  • Playback works in the morning and fails only in the evening, when the rest of the household is watching.
  • Restarting the router "fixes" it — because it interrupted the other stream, not because the network was the problem.

Questions people ask

What does 3 connections mean on an IPTV plan?

Three devices can stream at the same moment. You may set the account up on more devices than that; the limit is on simultaneous playback, not on installations.

Do two people watching one TV use two connections?

No. One screen playing one stream is one connection, however many people are in the room.

Can I upgrade the connection count mid-term?

Ask support before buying anything additional — the answer depends on how your current term was issued. Sizing correctly at purchase is cheaper than any upgrade path.
